Required
  • Associate degree or higher
  • ANY of the following valid licenses/certifications:
    • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) in Texas (TX)
    • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA ACLS) in Texas (TX)
    • Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in Texas (TX)

Overview

Terrell State Hospital - LVN Candidates MUST have experience working in a psychiatric setting. Please collect as many of these items as possible before submitting candidates: - Resume - Nursing License (if applicable) - Driver’s License - Social Security Card - Immunization Records (see attached files) - CPR/BLS Card Location: - 1200 East Brin Street - Terrell, TX 75160 Tentative Start Date - On or before 12/15/2022 Shift Availability: Mon - Sun - 6:45am – 3:15pm – weekends only – (4-needed) - 2:45pm - 11:00pm – includes weekends – (6-needed) - 11:00pm – 7:00am – includes weekends – (0) - 30-minute, unpaid meal break on each shift Term: - Minimum of 3 months with option to extend Requirements: - Licensed to practice as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in the State of Texas or a state that recognizes reciprocity through the Nurse License Compact. - Must have proven experience as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). - Must be willing to work at Terrell State Hospital, a mental health facility with patients that may have a dual diagnosis. - Must conduct themselves in accordance with the Rules and Regulations relating to Licensed Vocational Nurse Education, Licensure, and Practice in the State of Texas. - Must abide by the rules, regulations, and policies of HHSC and Terrell State Hospital. - Must comply with HHSC immunization requirements - Must submit to HHSC required drug test (Relode provides) - Must submit to HHSC required fingerprinting (Hospital provides) - Must complete facility and HHSC required training (2 weeks; paid) License, Certification, or Registration Required: - Must be licensed by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners as Licensed Vocational Nurse - Must be in good standing and must maintain that license while providing services at Terrell State Hospital. - Must be certified by the American Heart Association –BLS in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and maintain that certification while providing services at the Terrell State Hospital. - Copies of nursing license and CPR certifications must be kept on file with TSH’s Contracting office. - All certifications must be current and remain as such while providing services at the Terrell State Hospital Selection Process: - The Staffing Agency with the selected candidates will be notified by email. - TSH’s Agency Hiring Coordinator will communicate with the agency and candidate(s) on dates and times to begin the process of on-boarding.
