"Must Have" Skills for This Job: 1. Required:Associate's Degree in Radiology Equipment Technology or Electronics or related field -OR- (Military training/education or Vocational/Trade school Or Specialized formal training and Certification of Completion in CT, Nuclear Medicine, MR or Angiographic/Vascular Imaging Systems. This training should be from an OEM or recognized Radiology Training Institute.) 2. Required: 8 years experience servicing diagnostic imaging systems and 2 years experience of primary responsibility servicing the above specialized modalities (shown in Education) 3. Required: Upon hire Valid Texas driver’s license with acceptable driving record. 4. Preferred: Certification as a Biomedical Technician (CBET), or Certified Radiology Equipment Specialist (CRES) Tell Me About this Job: Repair, install, maintain, calibrate and inspect high-end diagnostic imaging systems. Provides instruction and guidance to other Technicians in performing these duties. Under minimal supervision demonstrate good technical/troubleshooting skills using digital voltage meters, radiation meters and a variety of equipment analyzers. Able to read schematics and diagrams in service manuals to calibrate/repair equipment. Able to instruct other Technicians on the proper operation and service of assigned specialized modalities. Be a resource for technical information to other Technicians. Able to step in when necessary to advance a service action to a successful conclusion. Perform preventative maintenance and electrical safety of high end diagnostic imaging systems. Effectively review historic documentation to determine additional testing that could prevent future system failures. Ensure proper calibrations, parts replacement and testing of systems during required scheduled maintenance. Review and address any problems or recurrent issues that when corrected will lead to longer time between failures.
